Field Scout SC-900 Soil Compaction Meter

Field Scout SC-900 Soil Compaction Meter

Soil compactness (hardness) prevents the penetration of water, reduces the effectiveness of fertilizers and pesticides and hinders the growth of crop roots. In some cases, the loss of agricultural products can be as high as 30% due to hardness, which cannot be ignored. Soil hardness meter (often called Penetrometer) is used to determine the hardness of soil and other materials, and to determine the soil hardness problem area before it affects the yield.

Improve potential profit by locating and observing soil hardness problems. The exclusive ultrasonic depth sensor measures the penetration resistance of the load cell while providing a reading of 1” (2.5cm) increments of soil depth. The hardness data is in PSI Or Kpa display. SC-900 with built-in data logger and RS-232 port allows soil hardness measurements to be correlated with yield graphs.

The special software allows you to download data for use in the program chart, change the record settings, adjust the soil hardness meter to different elevations, and install the soil hardness meter according to your own application.

The powerful SpecMaps software can explore the spatial differences of sensor measurements. GPS and sold separately.
